Lessons Never Learned

Hi, me here. I'm baaacccckkk!!! Well...maybe. I go through grooves of blogging. But I have some thoughts that I feel I must share. Thoughts about lessons I never seem to be able to learn no matter how many times I go through it.

Thought #1: Its probably a good idea to NOT date anyone in the singles ward. That just makes for a whole lot of awkward for everyone involved. Singles wards are awkward as is, let alone adding boyfriends, ex-boyfriends, last night's date, and FHE buddies in the mix. It does make Sundays VERY interesting though! But, I don't recommend it.

Thought #2: I read this on an old friend of mine's blog a few months ago, and let me tell you...story of my freaking life! She definitely nailed it on this one....(talk about amazing writer)
"If it looks like a frog...and it sounds like a frog...IT IS A FROG. Sure he could be sweet. He could talk a big game. He could charm his tiny frog butt off. He could even be sort of cute, in an amphibian-y-sort-of-way.
But that does not change the fact that he is A FROG. And what in your life, may I ask, has lead you to believe that a frog could ever be anything other than a frog?
He's painting a pretty picture in your head of magic and miracles and Happily Ever After. And all it takes is a little emotional investment on your part. A little trust. A little vulnerability...
A little kiss...
It sounds so easy...so happy...so safe. Just take that one tiny risk. Just let down your defenses, close your eyes, pucker up and kiss the-

FROG.

ITS A FREAKING FROG.

And despite what the fairy tale may tell you, FROGS DO NOT TURN INTO PRINCES.
Frogs are frogs.
Princes are princes.
You only get confused because you are kidding yourself. Take a step back and see the frog for what it is: NOT A PRINCE.

So put down the slimy creature, step away from the swamp, turn yourself right back around and head straight home to the castle. I mean, you're a PRINCESS for heaven's sake! There are PRINCES waiting to sweep you off your feet! Why in the world would you be wasting your time with frogs in the first place? Open your eyes sweetie--you're worth a whole lot more than what that frog is willing to give you."

Now that i've got that off my chest...Cheers to the weekend!

Two Options

So I am sitting here in my rather hot room pondering what to do about it. The way I see it, I have two options:
  1. Sleep excellently with the window open but risk the puffy eyes, runny nose, itchy throat allergy syndromes that are likely to follow me tomorrow. And deal with the magnified noise of the passing trains. Or...
  2. Sleep with the window shut and eliminate the likelihood of allergies in the morning, but possibly sweat to death in my awesome, overly blanketed bed.
And no, the third and fourth possibilities are not possible:) So I guess they aren't possibilities? Turning on the air conditioner requires way too much work of walking outside and uncovering the thing (who knows what animals are out there at this time) and pushing some buttons, and I refuse to sleep without my blankets. haha. Hmmm...what to do, what to do?

It's ridiculous that this is my worry when some people don't even have a safe place to call home. I am spoiled rotten! And sooooo blessed!

Good night ya'll!

My Own Kind of Paradise

Sometimes I feel my life is a country song. Ok maybe all of the time. I love country music! My man Zac Brown and his band totally nailed it with this one. Here is a brief update of my freakin awesome Memorial Day weekend in his words...

Gonna put the world away for a minute
Pretend I don't live in it
Sunshine gonna wash my blues away
Had sweet love but I lost it
Got too close so I fought it
Now I'm lost in the world tryin to find me a better way
Wishin' I was
Knee deep in the water somewhere
got the blue sky, breeze and it don't seem fair
the only worry in the world
is the tide gonna reach my chair
Sunrise, there's a fire in the sky
never been so happy
never felt so high
And I think i might have found me my own kind of paradise.
Wrote a note said be back in a minute
Bought a boat and I sailed off in it
Don't think anybody's gonna miss me anyway
Mind on a permanent vacation
[Lake Powell] is my only medication
Wishin' my condition ain't ever gonna go away.

Yeah...Talk about paradise! There is no place I'd rather be and no people I'd rather be with. It was awesome!

My little frog...soon to be my Prince Charming if you will

The Fam at Rainbow Bridge

Gotta love the wind!

Freezing...showering...so happy!

Oh ya know...just chillin in some Indian houses
Indian style on an Indian house. No big deal.

Just partyin like the Indians did!

Thanks for the fun time ya'll!

"When you lose yourself, you find the key to paradise"

Yes...I am still living

In case you were wondering. I just kinda forgot to blog for a little while there. You may be privileged enough to get like five posts tonight. That's how behind I am in life right now. Just maybe though...

Anyway....

Allow me to introduce you to Temple Trip Numero 3...good ol Monticello Utah. It was quite the adventure! And one I will never forget. This temple is definitely my favorite one so far. So small and special. By small and simple things are great things brought to pass (something like that:))
So my dad and Matt decided to go motorcycle riding out by Moab for the day, and I just couldn't resist having the chance to be so close to the temple and not going. So I drug Shan along with me and we left, completely spur of the moment! We slept in the tent with the broski that night and then left them there in the morning for their day of riding while we journeyed the two extra hours to Monticello.

We had some fun times with the camera that night!
However, tent sleeping and the lack of shower does not make for a very pretty temple appearance...trust me.
Just drivin the beast. 2 1/2 hours later.....
The temple was insight! yayayaya!
We stopped at the nearby gas station, put on our skirt and brushed our teeth, and then headed up the road to the beautiful temple.

Here we are in front of it.
Like I said, It was so small and so special and just a total different experience from the others I have been to.

I'm really likin this temple goal...it's teaching me so much about everything.

St Geezy Pleazy!

Alrighty...here is the re-cap finally! I know everyone has been waiting for it;) My computer was being beyond retarded and wouldn't upload the pictures for like two million years so after much anticipation...here it is. It was such a great time! I wish we could have stayed longer. Too bad we had to get back to reality, right? I can't tell the whole story so here are some of the highlights.
Pulling out of the Chee so happy and so excited!
Bailee and company. Haha
My friend here is full of surprises but this is the funniest thing I have ever learned about Bai. She has to sleep with a stuffed animal, a doll, and a special blankey. Love it!
We arrived!
And we're ready to party!
This was a major highlight of the trip. It was one of the main reasons why we even decided to go. Summer Temple Trip number 2...check!
I absolutely loved it. I didn't think the weekend could get any better, but then we went to the Temple. It was an amazing experience. I love to see the Temple!

All wet and couldn't be happier!
On Saturday we surprised Shan and got tickets to the Lonestar concert at the Tuachan. It was sooo fun! Slightly chilly, but such a good time!

Goodbye Worldmark. Goodbye St. George. Goodbye sunshine. You have been really good to me. And to my girlies...I loved spending the weekend partying with all of you. Thanks for the great time! Until next time...

Today is the day...

...The day my best friend turns 21. PART-AY!! She is a grown woman for cryin out loud!!! I've had some good times with this pretty lady. Some people think a little too many. We can now completely read each others minds and i'm pretty sure people think we are nuts. I think its pretty legit.

I am so grateful to have this amazing girl in my life. She care so much about other people and always knows just what to say and do to keep me on the right track. She is always so happy and willing to help everyone in need (you may have to schedule an appointment though because the therapy sessions have been overbooked lately). She has taught me to find what matters most in life.

I am so grate ful to have such an amazing friend, roommate, co-worker, sister and bff. And I mean bfF. We've already got our futures planned with a shared houseboat, connected backyards, and hot husband friends. It will be great! Happy Birthday Shan! Thanks for all the wonderful past adventures and the many more that are sure to come. Party like a rockstar you adult you.

Here are some past adventures

Speaking of adventures: St. George TOMORROW!!!! and no more school for almost four months! I survived! Yeehaw!!!
